Chapel of Garioch – The Old Post Office Tearoom
This is probably our most often visited coffee stop – its close to the end of a number of our routes and has indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee, Homebakes and Ciabattas make it worth stopping.
Monymusk – The Grant Arms
A fine old hotel with an excellent evening menu if you fancy a night out, though we usually turn up in the morning! Open from 1000 for coffee and homebakes as standard over the winter months though the owner is very cyclist friendly so you can get bacon rolls or even a full breakfast provided you let him know in advance.

Alford – The Alford Bistro
Great scones though not open until 1100
Dufftown – The Sidings
The Sidings Cafe is located in old rail carriages at Dufftown Rail Station from where you can catch a heritage train trip to Keith on the Keith-Dufftown Railway. The Sidings is open from Spring through to Autumn TUES – SUN 10am – 4pm and serves Breakfast Rolls, Light Lunches and Home Baking. For groups it is worth booking in advance call 01340 525125
Kemnay – Bennachie Lodge
Bennachie Lodge is a great stop on a Wednesday ride in the summer where we can stop for a ‘swift half’ with good outdoor seating. It is also good for a breakfast roll and homebakes on a Sunday ride
Huntly – Dean’s
On Sunday’s most places in Huntly are closed at the times we are passing. There are 2 exceptions – Asda (which does in fact do an excellent bacon roll but doesn’t need us to advertise them) and Deans which has warm indoor seating and a range of food from scones to a full breakfast if you’re really hungry.
Blackburn/Kinellar – Forest Farm Dairy
We don’t often head this way but Forest Farm is a great stop in the summer as they have loads of ice cream options as well as Coffee and Homebakes. There is only outdoors seating but plenty of it and they provide cycle parking facilities.
Udny – The Coffee Apothecary
Another stop that isn’t on one of our more usual routes but you’re always going to get a good Coffee here along with Breakfast Rolls and wide range of Homebakes.
